I started playing darts in the Carnoustie and Monifieth league way back in 1980 – this was before there had been enough teams in one league to play.

I played for Carnoustie Panmure Football Club when it had a thriving social club as well as the team. Along with my future mother-in-law, Annie Smith and future sister-in-law Janet Martin every week our team would travel to meet and play with other ladies in the league.

Many of the players in that league continued to play in the newly formed Carnoustie Ladies Darts league when it was formed by Jean Johnstone and Karen Noble.

That became a thriving league with many of us spending a happy Sunday travelling thought the region playing super league – although some┬ámemories are hazy.

We are the Ladies Stag Darts team. We are a group of girls of all ages who have been playing together for a long time. We thought now was the time to share our journey.

Last year we went on a trip together to Spain. Everyone had so much fun.
